VAYLC 2011

December 20th, 2010

Date: +++ Friday, June 24 (8:00am) – Sunday, June 26 (2:00pm)
Location: George Mason University – Arlington Campus
++++++++ 3401 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA

The objective of the Vietnamese American Youth Leadership Conference (VAYLC) is to create a venue where young people may share their ideas, values, and goals with one another. In order to influence policy decisions or political change at the national level, there must be a solid foundation of focused, grass-roots advocacy at the local level. VAYLC realizes that the enthusiasm and expertise needed to build the Vietnamese American community may be easily found among industrious young people and adults from all across the United States.

The presenters and speakers at VAYLC will share their own professional and personal experiences with you about the lessons they have learned, and teach you the skills you will need to unite your student organizations, to build and expand a non-profit organization, and to network in a professional environment. Speakers and workshop presenters will be available for you to engage and address specific concerns.

Goals
*  Develop leadership skills for young Vietnamese American and Asian Pacific American (APA) young professionals and students.
*  Prepare young professionals and students to become public leaders in their communities.
*  Provide a forum for young Asian Americans to discuss national and local issues and establish a network for young leaders to meet and exchange ideas.
